To all my customers, thank you for your loyalty and support as I continue to build my business. Next year will bring more classes and new opportunities to do what we all love - create cards, gift packaging and memory keeping.

My Annual Occasions and Sale-A-Bration open house is Sunday, January 10 from 10:00 - 4:00.

If you didn't receive these publications in the mail, they will be available online January 5 and you can pick up a copy at this event. Food, prizes, make-n-takes, fun! More details to come; just get this date on your calendar so you don't miss out. Announce this event to your co-workers, family and friends. New people are always welcome.

Next Group Order & Big Shot Special

Big Shot Special

I know many of you would like to purchase the Big Shot to add further dimension to your crafting projects but the price has been more than you want to pay. Well, as my gift to you I'm offering it for 20% off the retail price of $136.00 (excludes shipping & tax). All in, that's a savings of $33.
Included in this special is a personal tutorial on using it plus a choice of embossing folder from the current catalogues.

Group Order

The next group order is going in on Sunday (Nov 16) evening so please check your supplies and get your orders to me before then.

Check out the weekly deals - there are a number of punches on sale and if you only want the punch without the coordinating stamp set, they are a good deal. But if you want the stamp set as well, then the bundle is a better deal.

I plan on purchasing the Festive Flower punch myself as I don't care for the stamp set. I've seen some gorgeous flowers made with this punch. Take a look at this tree ornament idea:

This Week's Specials

I would be remiss if I didn't let you know that the Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the Brights Candy Dots are on special until Tuesday, September 8.

Christmas is a glittery time of year so make sure you don't run out of rhinestones for your card-making. As for the candy dots, there are many uses other than adding them to the brad bases (which are super when adding a handle to a box). You can add them to create background elements on your cards. If you plan on ordering the Peaceful Pines stamp set, they would be fun to use to decorate those trees. They could also be used as berries in the following stamp sets: Joyful Season, Embellished Ornaments and Peaceful Wreath. And why not give the snowflakes in the Flurry of Wishes stamp set some interest. I like to use them for framing a greeting on a card (add one to the start and end of the greeting). I will list all of these products below.

Let me know if there is anything you want and I'm happy to place a group order on Monday evening.

Thank you everyone.

A Scrapped Card

I want to start making projects for my upcoming classes but my desk was a mess, mostly scattered with bits of paper, punched out item that I never used, bits of ribbon, etc.
I hate throwing anything away so I made the following card. I simply took some pieces and placed them randomly on the card front, rearranged the pieces and added some other items. To make the butterfly, I swiped the VersaMark stamp pad over a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then covered it with Heat & Stick powder and heat it with the heat tool. Immediately, white the paper was still warm, I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over it and heat set it a second time. I then ran it through the Big Shot with the butterfly from the Bold Butterfly framelits.  I hope you try this method of designing a card of your own.

Holiday Catalogue, Videos & More

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying the new Holiday catalogue. How long is your wish list?
Please keep in mind that you can earn free products by hosting a workshop. Invite a few of your friends over to share your love of paper crafting. Many people I have met who say "I'm not interested" or "I'm not creative" are pleasantly surprised after they have had a chance to play with the products and are genuinely pleased with their finished project. You know how satisfying that is! And you also know how fun it is to gather your friends together, have some fun, have some wine.
I'm happy to host in your home or mine.  Just give me a call.

I wanted to share with you the video library that is available that showcases many of the items in the catalogue. Watching videos sometimes helps in making decisions in what you'd like to purchase. Here is the link.
I pre-ordered quite a few products and have been having fun making a variety of projects. It's all so fun and I have quite a few workshops already scheduled. Please check my Events page and sign up.

I'm open for the Stamp Cafe on Friday, September 11. Come and find out how to emboss window sheets to add some visual interest and texture to your next card creation. Here is a photo of the one I made. I need an RSVP so let me know.
A window with raindrops

Tuesday, September 15 from 7:00-9:00 pm is a class on how to use salt with watercolours to create an interesting background. Here are the cards you can make. Again, please RSVP.

Holiday Catalogue Live September 1

I am so excited that this catalogue is finally live tomorrow so you can start ordering stuff for the upcoming holidays. This time of the year is so fun with lots of crafting opportunities for Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas.
I have already been playing with many of the seasonal stamp sets and accessories. Yesterday, at my Holiday Catalogue Release party, I had a few projects made up with their coordinating stamp sets, framelits, punches, and other fun accessories on display. If you weren't able to make it, here are some photos.
Thankful Forest Friends stamp set, Into the Woods DSP, and Into the Woods elements (p.43)

Sweet Hauntings stamp set (p.47), Howl-o-ween Treat stamp set bundle (p.49)

Among the Branches bundle (p.39), Spider Web Doilies (p.47)

Peaceful Wreath stamp set (p.21) and Wonderful Wreath framelits (p.172 annual catalogue)

Softly Falling embossing folder (p24), Peaceful Wreath stamp set (p.21), Wonderful Wreath framelits (p.172 annual catalogue)

White Christmas stamp set (p.68 annual catalogue)

Howl-o-ween Treat stamp set bundle (p.49), Sweet Hauntings stamp set and Happy Haunting DSP (p.47) and Note Tag punch (p.166 annual catalogue), Gift Bag Punch Board (p.150 annual catalogue)

The Halloween products would be so much fun to use with your kids. They can make cards to give to their friends and teachers, and with the Gift Bag punch board, they can make treat bags for their friends.
If you don't yet have your Holiday catalogue, give me a call and let's arrange to get one in your hands. Any questions? Don't hesitate contacting me.

Blended Bloom

The Blended Bloom stamp was introduced around the time that the Blendabilities alcohol markers were and it was the perfect image for colouring and taking full advantage of the blending capabilities of those markers. Unfortunately the Blendabilities were taken off the shelf due to quality issues leaving customers with the stamp which also ended up on a shelf because they weren't sure how to use it. Well, slowly other colouring methods were introduced, one of which was to stamp the image on watercolour paper then colour it using the ink pads and the watercolour brush.

One of my customers hosted a party over the weekend and she requested I design the make-n-take around this stamp set. Due to the number of guests and time, watercolouring was not an option so I designed these two cards.

If you'd like to make these two cards, then register for my Stamp Cafe this Friday, August 28. If you can't make it but want to make them on your own, the supplies used follow the images.

Weekly Deals and Friday's Card Cafe

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer. There are some terrific deals this week, especially if you plan on making some gift boxes for your  Christmas gift-giving. You know how we think we have plenty of time to get things done for the Christmas season and then when it's upon us, oh my gosh, we are scrambling. So I'm trying to help myself and hey, I may as well try to help you get organized early.

I've assembled a list of what you could use to create some fabulous boxes:

The Gift Box Punch Board is on sale for $17.50, item #135863. To go with that a Thick Baker's Twine in Cherry Cobbler is on sale for $3.38, item #138414. These two items can be found in the Weekly Deals.

For gift tags, pick up the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit for $6.97, item #13586.

For the box construction I highly recommend the 12 x 12 Kraft cardstock, item #133674. It's not currently on sale but two choices for DSP are on sale in the Clearance Rack; Nordic Noel DSP, item #135822 for $5.39 and/or Santa & Co., item #135821 for $6.79.

Let me know if you are interested in anything and I'll put in a group order by the end of this week.

Friday's Card Cafe
This Friday, I'm happy to show you how to make the pinwheel card. Here are the samples I've made.

This Card Cafe is Friday morning at 10 AM and the cost is $10.00 to make two. Let me know if you can attend so I have the supplies ready for you to start creating.

A Thank You to All

It is with a warm heart that I thank everyone for attending my Open House and to those who followed up with me after the event. I truly appreciate your patronage and the friendships we are developing.

As announced on the invitation, for each $60 order placed with me, your name would be entered into a grand prize draw. That grand prize is $35 in free product (before shipping and taxes).

There are a total of 19 entries. These represent each $60 order so if you placed a $120 order, your name is entered twice. Watch the video to see who the lucky winner is.

Stamp Cafe on Friday

I`m open for card-making this Friday morning at 10 AM. I have a new card fold to share with you using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. Here is a picture of a card I made using this fold. You will make two cards, each in a different orientation.

Please be sure to let me know if you will be coming so I can pre-cut the materials.
Please bring your basic stamping kit with you particularly your adhesive. If you have the score board, that would be handy to bring as well.

I hope to see you on Friday.

Basic Crafting Kit

Hello everyone,
When I attend a stamp class I like to bring my own tool kit. Although the demonstrator  supplies items such as basic pearls/rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals and glue dots specific to the project we are making, I often want to reach for a paper piercing tool or a bone folder and those are not available. Or if they are, someone else is using it and I don't like disrupting my creative flow by waiting for something. And I like my own scissors. They are sharp and free of glue. Oh and I like to have a pair of tweezers on hand. I store them in a plastic box I picked up at Staples and yes, it's a little too big although I can safely carry home the cards I've made.
So, here are the items in my kit.

Thursday, 18 June 2015

Hello everyone,
I have a couple of updates I want you to be aware of:

My Stampin' Up! website -
Several changes have been applied to this site. Stampin' Up! has updated both the design and the architecture to improve the usability of the site and make it more mobile friendly. Unfortunately after applying the updates, several issues were reported and they are working hard to resolve them.

Besides a new header and navigation bar, the information on the home page has been updated to include events. So, all the classes I teach will be listed there but you will have to scroll down the page to find them or just click on Events from the navigation bar. That's the horizontal green bar.

The major item that has moved is the "Shop" button. It used to appear in the upper right-hand corner beneath my contact information. Well, now it's on the navigation bar.

The new Whisper White heavy-weight card stock (p.149) is 100 lb and not 80 as indicated on the packaging. As soon as their current inventory has been exhausted, their new stock will come with the correct labeling.

I will be placing a workshop order tomorrow afternoon, so be sure to get your orders in to me by 1:00 pm at the latest. Thank you.

It's important to note that if you take this promotion, you are signing up for a subscription. You can choose to skip months (handy for the the US based holidays) and cancel at any time as long as you do it before the 10th of the month.

Paper Pumpkin Club - I am hosting a club night once per month, in the evening from 7:00-9:00 pm. It's a gathering place for Paper Pumpkin subscribers who like to craft together. Open your box that night or, if you were too excited and opened it already, come anyway. A great place to make the project together and share ideas for other projects to make from that kit. The dates will be posted on my Event page.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate contacting me.

A Balloon Card

I used the two balloon stamp sets, Balloon Bash and Celebrate Today, for one of the box cards for Tuesday's class and while still on my desk, decided to make a card. I had recently seen a z-fold card. This fold has been around for a long time but it's always fun to bring new life to an old style.

Take an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of cardstock. Position the longer side along the top edge of the score board and make two score lines, one at 2", the other at 4-1/4".

So, when you sit down to make a card, try this one out; I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Box Card Class-Happiness All Around

Thought I would share the wonderful class we had last night. Five ladies joined me in learning how to make the fabulous box card. We made two of them using the Butterflies Basics, Balloon Bash and Celebrate Today stamp sets.

Essential tools for making a box card is the Stampin' Trimmer for cutting your paper and the Simply Scored board for scoring your cardstock. Also, because we had to add some diagonal score lines to the project, we used the Simply Scored Diagonal Scoring Plate (item #125586 $15.95).

Here are the cards up close.

The end of May is busy for me as I have a couple of weekends away but I'm happy to host a class on Tuesday evening, May 19 at 7:00 PM. I've selected a box card template to make two cards. I'll have a template for you to take home so you can make some more.
