Seashore Stampers Blog Hop - Mother's Day

I miss commemorating Mother's Day. I always did something special for my mom and even during the years since I moved away I made sure to send a card and a gift and a call to tell her how much I appreciated her and all she had done for me. I miss doing that.

All I can do now is to remember those times and remember some of her favourite things - blue was her favourite colour. When my mom and dad renovated their bathroom, Mom wanted everything blue: tub, sink and toilet.

And when the princess style telephone came out - it was the blue one that she picked.

Her favourite flower - Forget Me Not.

And her favourite fine bone china teacup ... the Forget Me Not pattern by Royal Albert.

And I remember the stories she told of walking in the English woods enjoying the thousands of bluebells at her feet.

And my mom loved jewellery. Never a day went by without a pair of earrings and a gold chain around her neck. I guess that's where I get my love of jewellery (and my Dad's mom also loved jewellery). So it's in my genes to wear jewellery and my sister too. We both love it. But it's skipping a generation because both our daughters are not so keen. Oh sorry, I digress.

So this Mother's Day, I have a card I made especially for my mom that I will place on my mantel to express how much I miss her and love her. I used three blues in the Stampin' Up! collection: Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Pool Party. The stamp set is Special Reason - so popular it is now completely sold out.

So if you are lucky enough to have your mother still present in your life, sit down and make a special card for her. It will bring her back in time to your earliest works of art that she held onto so dearly. Truly a special gift!
