Seashore Stampers Blog Hop - Masculine/Father's Day Card Design

Welcome to my blog!  With Father's Day coming up next month, our theme was to create a card that could be used for Father's Day or another event such as a birthday. Every month has a theme and each member of the Seashore Stampers club has the opportunity to participate in a swap and then write a blog post about their card. If you follow the links below, you can hop along to the other cards made by our talented members.

I  recently purchased the Happy Tails bundle, item #150631, in the Occasions catalogue to save 10% and also because it's so darned cute. I have many friends with dogs so it's the perfect stamp set for creating fun birthday cards. This savings is available until May 31 - that's a few days from now. It is carrying over to the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue but will be sold separately (the stamp set and the punch).

Here is the card I made:

I don't do a lot of sponging, but I thought that an outdoor scene would be a perfect backdrop for my sweet dalmatian. Is he not the sweetest thing? I have learned that creatures have to be grounded so I kept sponging green along the bottom to create a grassy area and used the tiny grass stamp from the High Tide stamp set to add some dimension.

I decided on a red painted doghouse. I must have been thinking about a fire truck and can you figure out why I would have thought of that? I then matched that colour to my puppy's collar and added a rhinestone jewel. From some Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green scraps, I punched out the balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch. I adhered the first one with Snail adhesive and mounted the second balloon with a dimensional. I then used a black marker to draw in the strings.

This card will be perfect for my nephew whose birthday is coming up next month.

I hope you enjoy this card and if you'd like to purchase any supplies, please visit my online store here. Don't hesitate contacting me with any questions.
